Abstract: This study analyses the determinants of the technical efficiency of rice farmers in Baguinéda Irrigated Perimeter Office area (Office of irrigated perimeter of Baguinéda). The Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier analyze (SFA) of production was used to estimate the technical efficiency and the technical inefficiency of rice farmers using Frontier 4.1 software. The data were obtained from 121 rice farmers. The results show an average efficiency score of 74%, indicating that rice farmers will be able to increase their productivity by 26% at no additional cost. Age, gender, access to equipment and membership in a rice farmers’ cooperative were found to be significant and positively correlated with performance. The positive sign of gender shows that women achieve less productivity than men.
